A special feature of many species is the pale red skin which is intense red colors when excited. Other species have the ability to change the patterns on their skin. The family of croakers, which are also known under the name Shadow fish, drummers or Scianidae, belongs to the order of the Perciformes. The size of the croakers varies between 9cm and 2,3m. They live in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The males produce during courtship drum-like sounds, by enabling the swim bladder using special muscles to vibrate.
